Slide-a-Round Math: Accessible Mathematics Instruction - 37011
Join Jim Franklin, educator and expert in accessible mathematics instruction, for an interactive workshop focused on making math meaningful and accessible for all learners, including students with visual impairments. Participants will explore hands-on strategies and tactile manipulatives for teaching concepts such as rounding, fractions, elapsed time, money, and problem-solving. Through demonstrations, guided practice, and collaborative discussion, attendees will discover practical tools and instructional techniques that support concept development, engagement, and mathematical understanding. The session will also highlight innovative STEM and life-skills projects that connect classroom learning to real-world applications. Participants will leave with ready-to-use strategies, resources, and ideas for increasing access and success in mathematics instruction.
