Beyond the Code: Fostering Literacy, Social Skills, and Independence for Students Who Are Visually Impaired with KaiBot Robotics - 36797
Robotics can be far more than a coding activity. When designed with accessibility in mind, robotics becomes a powerful instructional tool for students who are blind, visually impaired, or deafblind. This session explores how KaiBots can support learning well beyond basic programming by providing tactile, multisensory experiences that reinforce literacy, social interaction, orientation, and mobility (O&M), and STEM concepts.
This session is designed for educators and service providers working with students who are blind, visually impaired, or deafblind. It highlights how accessible robotics can promote confidence, problem-solving, teamwork, and real-world learning experiences that extend far beyond coding.
