Bite-Sized Summer Learning Series: Functional Communication Training -- More Than "Use Your Words" Virtual - 33142

Do you have 90 minutes? Then join us this summer as we offer a series of online mini sessions on evidence-based strategies that will help you improve student learning. The intended outcome is that participants will increase their repertoire of learning strategies that have been shown to be effective for learners with unique learning needs. Functional communication training (FCT) is an evidence-based practice that can be used to replace interfering behaviors with more appropriate and effective communicative behavior. FCT is often referenced as an intervention to interfering behavior but may not be used correctly. Replacing challenging behavior with communication is not as simple as just saying "use your words." We must use a systematic approach to teach appropriate communication skills.
