Bite-size Summer Learning Series: Visual Supports for Students Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in the General Education Classroom - 33143
Do you have 90 minutes? Then join us this summer as we offer a series of online mini sessions on evidence-based strategies that will help you improve student learning. The intended outcome is that participants will increase their repertoire of learning strategies that have been shown to be effective for learners with unique learning needs.
Research has shown that concrete visual teaching methods are recommended for students with Autism to succeed in the educational setting. Visual supports are tools used to increase the understanding of language and environmental expectations, and to provide structure and support for individuals with ASD in the general education classroom. This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies component of the TEA-required self-assessment.
