MTSS- PBIS Asynchronous Online Course w/ Live Virtual Discussion Group Virtual - 37286

The mission of PBIS is to build schools' capacity by adopting a sustained, positive, preventive, and effective instructional approach to school-wide discipline and behavior management. This session will provide an overview of PBIS and its place within an MTSS framework. In this course, participants will build an understanding of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS). This course is designed for teachers, staff, and administrators of PK-12 schools.

Participants must complete the asynchronous TEALearn course: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support prior to the Live Discussion. Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will understand the impact of problem behaviors on educational outcomes, describe how PBIS functions within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework, define what PBIS is and what PBIS is not, describe the five elements of PBIS and how they work in concert to make schools more effective, and describe PBIS within each of the three tiers: universal, targeted, and intensive.
