The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework can be considered the umbrella for other support systems, such as data-based individualization (DBI), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), response to intervention (RtI), and positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS). An effective MTSS framework considers learners' variability, supports in place, and equal access to the general curriculum. Through MTSS, schools identify students needing additional support and provide them with evidence-based interventions to reduce academic and behavioral gaps. In these sessions, MTSS Teams will participate in: Examples of MTSS Implementation, Support for SPED Referrals, Importance of Universal Screening, Interpreting Data, DBI, Using Data to Problem-Solve, Importance of Progress Monitoring, Decision-Making, and A Shared Vision.
