Early Childhood Evaluation Through the Lens of Communication, Context, and Experience (HEB ISD) - 36112
This interactive session for HEB ISD early childhood evaluators explores how communication, culture, and context shape developmental presentations in young children, particularly when Autism is a consideration. Participants will examine how socio-economic factors, cultural diversity, and limited early school exposure influence assessment results and learn strategies for distinguishing communication differences from disabilities. Emphasis will be placed on dynamic assessment, interviewing techniques, and culturally responsive evaluation practices.
This session is aligned with the Child Find and Evaluation components of the TEA-required self-assessment.
