Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) are instructional strategies representing the most significant changes needed to bridge the gap between research and practice in mathematics education. This session will cover the Instructional Hierarchy and Science of Learning including:
- Depth and Coherence of Key Concepts and Procedures
- Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Fluency and Automaticity
- Effective Explicit Instruction for Novice Learners
- Effective Practice for Mathematical Independence
Participants will explore thinking differently about mathematics and what changes could benefit the students they serve.
