SLD or SI? Listening Comprehension and Oral Expression Deficits Virtual - 34545

This professional development session is designed for school-based evaluation professionals to enhance their ability to differentiate between speech impairments (SI) and specific learning disabilities (SLD) in the areas of listening comprehension and oral expression. Through discussions and case studies participants will deepen their understanding of IDEA eligibility criteria, diagnostic tools, and collaborative evaluation processes. Emphasis will be placed on distinguishing overlapping characteristics and making data-driven eligibility decisions, This session is aligned with the evaluation component of the TEA-required self-assessment. 0.3 ASHA CEUs offered.
