Alphabet Soup: Counseling and Behavioral Interventions for Students with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, ODD, and DMDD - 34477

This session will provide an overview of evidence-based counseling and behavioral interventions designed to support students with ADHD, anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD). Participants will review research-backed strategies that align with the unique needs of each disorder, helping school personnel to better understand and apply targeted interventions. Emphasis will be placed on practical applications within school settings, promoting improved student outcomes and reducing disruptive behaviors. This session aligns with the Intervention, Instructional Strategies, and Behavior components of the required self-assessment.

Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify and describe one evidence-based intervention for each disorder covered (ADHD, anxiety, depression, ODD, and DMDD) and explain its theoretical foundation. Participants will also be able to distinguish the unique behavioral and emotional needs associated with ADHD, anxiety, depression, ODD, and DMDD, using current research to support intervention choices.
