Dr. Schultz Presents: Distinguishing Developmental Delay from Disability (Virtual) Virtual - 34403
Recent policy changes in Texas allows a student to be considered “developmentally delayed” until 9 years old. When policy change occurs, practice must shift. This session will review the current policy, review typical development, and discuss strategies to help distinguish “delay from disability” to avoid using developmental delay to “delay” proper identification. This session is aligned with the evaluation components of the TEA-required self-assessment.
