Texas Dyslexia Academy 2: The Dyslexia Handbook was developed to assist school districts and charter schools in understanding The Dyslexia Handbook 2024 Update: Procedures Concerning Dyslexia and Related Disorders. In this course, participants explore the handbook and learn about important updates from the 2024 version of the handbook.
This session is aligned with the Child Find, Dyslexia, Evaluation, FAPE, IEP Content and Development, IEP Implementation, and LRE component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will define dyslexia, the key characteristics and identify common risk factors, understand universal screening and data review for reading risk, examine the evaluation and identification processes for students with dyslexia, investigate critical, evidence-based components of dyslexia instruction, and review the evaluation and identification processes, as well as provision of services for students with dysgraphia.
