Evaluating Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students Assessing Students in Spanish for the Bilingual Evaluator: Selecting, Administering and Analyzing Results Virtual - 34176

This session is intended for bilingual evaluators, however a monolingual evaluator or someone who supervises these team members would benefit from this session as well. Dr. Holman, a bilingual diagnostician will provide an overview of the various assessments available to our bilingual evaluators. Participants will learn how to select and interpret results in light of the individual student's first and second language development and other factors. Dr. Holman will discuss various imitations and challenges when evaluating a student in Spanish using a norm referenced tool. This session is aligned with the evaluation and disproportionality-identification and placement components of the TEA-required self-assessment.
