(Carroll ISD) Writing Effective Impact and Need Statements - 34063
Come learn how to write an FIE that will be meaningful in the creation of a student's IEP! In this session, we will ngage in meaningful activities and discussion surrounding the development of Impact and Needs statements. This session will provide guidance for writing compliant and effective impact and need statements related to the student's disability to create the Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements, which lead to the development of an appropriate individualized education program (IEP). This session is aligned with the Evaluation and IEP Content and Development components of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
1. Participants will write clear impact statements by analyzing how a student's disability affects their access to the curriculum.
2. Participants will create actionable need statements based on the identified impacts of the disability.
3. Participants will link impact and need statements to PLAAFP, ensuring these statements lead to effective IEP goals.
