Calendar Systems and Routines: A Workshop for Teachers of Students who are Visually Impaired (TVIs) - 33370
This training is designed to help TVIs utilize calendars systems and routines. Implementation of calendar systems and the use of routines supports communication, concept-building, interaction, independence, self-determination, self-regulation, and self-advocacy. This session specifically addresses why and how calendars can be used to maximize learning for students with multiple disabilities, sensory disabilities, and complex access needs. This session is aligned with TEA Special Education Self-Assessment indicators numbers 2, 7, 8,12, and 21.

Objectives
Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the instructional benefit of using an object calendar system.
Participants will show an understanding of how to create an IEP driven object calendar for at least one student in their classroom.
Participants will demonstrate at least three different uses for the calendar system in their classroom.
