Behavioral MTSS: The School Psychologists' Role, Data, Interventions, and Decision Making (Arlington ISD) - 37423

School psychologists play an important role in helping teams move beyond simply collecting behavioral data to using those data to make meaningful decisions. This session will examine the school psychologist’s role in behavioral MTSS across universal, targeted, and individualized levels of support. Participants will explore how Tier 1 and Tier 2 data can be used to identify patterns, evaluate intervention effectiveness, examine implementation fidelity, and determine appropriate next steps. The session will also address how existing intervention and progress-monitoring data can inform functional behavioral assessment, and how ongoing data can be used to evaluate and refine behavioral interventions and behavior intervention plans. Through applied examples and case-based activities, participants will practice moving from data to interpretation to action while considering student-, classroom-, intervention-, and systems-level variables.
