Examining Case Law: Ethical Practice in School Psychology Virtual - 36696

School psychologists operate at the intersection of education law and professional ethics. Court decisions have played a critical role in shaping expectations for evaluation practices, student rights, confidentiality, due process, and the provision of services to students with disabilities. This session will review influential federal case law that has impacted the practice of school psychology and the delivery of special education services in schools. Participants will examine how legal precedent informs ethical decision-making and professional conduct within the framework of federal laws, including IDEA, Section 504, and FERPA.
