This professional development session is designed for school-based evaluation professionals to enhance their ability to differentiate between speech impairments (SI) and specific learning disabilities (SLD) in the areas of listening comprehension and oral expression. Through discussions and case studies, participants will deepen their understanding of IDEA eligibility criteria, diagnostic tools, and collaborative evaluation processes. Emphasis will be placed on distinguishing overlapping characteristics and making data-driven eligibility decisions. 0.3 ASHA CEUs offered.
