Dr. Schultz Presents: CSEP 2.0--Updates and Improvements Virtual - 36622

The Core-Selective Evaluation Process (C-SEP) emphasizes the responsible, efficient use of assessment to understand learning and guide instruction—principles that align directly with the Texas Education Agency’s SLD guidance, which requires that eligibility decisions be based on a preponderance of evidence from multiple data sources. C-SEP 2.0 reflects an evolution in practice driven by current research, improved test design, and updated policy expectations. In this session, participants will learn how to organize a “Selective-Core” framework to examine the eight areas of SLD eligibility in Texas by deconstructing learning constructs to improve assessment selection and ensure measures are instructionally meaningful. Emphasis will be placed on integrating learning data with testing data and on the reciprocal relationship between test selection and interpretation—demonstrating how stronger construct alignment leads to clearer interpretations, more defensible eligibility decisions, and more targeted instructional recommendations.
