TELL ME: AAC in the Preschool Classroom – Supporting Core Vocabulary Through Shared Reading and Routines - 36021
Looking for effective, evidence-based strategies to support early language development in children who use AAC? This session introduces the TELL ME: AAC in the Preschool Classroom program—a structured, research-informed approach that empowers educators and speech-language pathologists to teach high-frequency core vocabulary in meaningful, engaging ways. Using beloved picture books like I Went Walking and No, David, the program integrates shared reading, shared writing, and daily classroom routines to create rich language-learning opportunities. Learn how TELL ME can be implemented across a range of AAC systems, how to involve families through take-home materials, and how to foster collaboration across preschool teams to support every communicator. Participants will receive the TELL ME: AAC in the Preschool Classroom materials.
This session is aligned with the intervention component of the TEA-required self-assessment.
