This specialized support cohort for new Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TVIs) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS) is designed to strengthen foundational skills in assessing students with visual impairments, delivering effective instruction, and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs). Through ongoing mentorship, collaborative problem-solving, and targeted professional development, the cohort provides practical tools and resources to help new professionals navigate the unique responsibilities of their roles. Participants will gain a clear understanding of best practice strategies that ensure high-quality services for students with visual impairments. This session aligns with the following Special Education Self-Assessment Compliance/Strategy Items: 2, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18, 21, 22, and 23.
