Autism Lunch and Learn - Antecedent-Based Interventions (ABI) Virtual - 36130
During this series, participants will dive into the world of behavior analysis and learn practical strategies to shape behavior effectively. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the skills and knowledge to develop and implement effective behavioral strategies in a variety of settings, such as in school or the home. This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.
January Session - Topic Antecedent Based Interventions (ABI). ABI are evidence-based and proactive strategies designed to reduce the occurrence of interfering behavior. ABI focuses on modifying the environment and changing the elements that could trigger interfering behavior. The goal of these interventions is to alter the environment so that the targeted interfering behaviors are less likely to occur. This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies component(s) of the TEA-required.

Teacher - Special Education, Charter School Personnel, Diagnosticians, LSSP (Licensed Specialist in School Psychology), Speech Therapists, Teacher - Early Childhood/PreK/Kindergarten, Teacher - General Education
Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify at least three antecedent interventions and explain how each can be used to prevent challenging behavior.
