In this hands-on workshop, we will explore practical strategies for helping students navigate complex texts with confidence. Participants will gain a deep understanding of what makes texts complex and learn how to effectively scaffold reading instruction to support student comprehension. The session will cover essential techniques for building background knowledge and vocabulary, guiding peer-led reading and writing tasks, and facilitating collaborative conversations. Teachers will be equipped with tools and strategies to implement scaffolded reading instruction that empowers students to tackle challenging texts while fostering critical thinking and engagement. Through collaborative discussions and interactive activities, this session will provide participants with the skills needed to help their students succeed with complex reading materials.
