Students deepen their thinking when they have opportunities to test ideas, challenge evidence, and defend their reasoning with others. This session explores strategies for building purposeful dialogue, discussion, and Thrash-Outs into the social studies classroom. Participants will experience protocols they can use with students and consider how establishing routines early in the year can mean less time explaining procedures and more time discussing content throughout the year.
