New Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Cohort - 37001
New itinerant teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) play a critical role in ensuring students have access to language, instruction, and meaningful participation in their educational environments. This cohort is designed to support early-career itinerant teachers as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate the complexities of their role. Participants must be in their first, second, or third year of itinerant teaching with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. These will be face-to-face cohort sessions.
Participants will explore the core responsibilities of itinerant service delivery, including consulting and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting school staff in understanding the unique needs of students who are DHH, and implementing appropriate accommodations and modifications. The cohort will also address assessment practices, strategies for effective communication and advocacy, and approaches to building strong partnerships with educators, families, and related service providers.
Through guided discussion, real-world scenarios, and practical tools, participants will leave with actionable strategies to strengthen their impact across diverse educational settings.
Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.
