7th Annual Metroplex Social Studies Conference The American Mixtape: 250 Years. 25 Tracks. One Nation. (History’s Greatest Hits and the Stories Behind Them) ALTERNATE LOCATION - 36366
Get ready to drop the needle on a full day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration at the 7th Annual Metroplex Social Studies Conference! This year’s theme—The American Mixtape—invites educators to explore the essential tracks that have shaped our nation over the past 250 years. From iconic turning points to the lesser-heard stories that bring depth and perspective, this year’s experience highlights the remix of civics, history, literacy, and discourse that defines effective social studies instruction today.
Join social studies educators from across the region for a dynamic day featuring:
* Speakers that spotlight civic learning, disciplinary thinking, and the power of storytelling in social studies.
* Breakout Sessions where you can “choose your track” on civics education, pedagogy, disciplinary literacy, civil discourse, assessment, instructional strategies, and strong content foundations.
* TEA Updates to keep you current on statewide initiatives, legislative impacts, and implementation guidance.
* Vendor Expo highlighting instructional resources, classroom tools, museums, community partners, and curriculum supports.
* Food is provided so you can relax, refuel, and keep the conversations going.
* Networking Opportunities designed to connect educators across districts, grade levels, and roles as we strengthen the Metroplex social studies community.
Whether you’re a classroom teacher, instructional coach, administrator, or curriculum leader, The American Mixtape offers fresh ideas, practical strategies, and collaborative spaces to help you inspire the next generation of informed, empowered citizens.
Turn up the volume on your professional learning. Join us June 24 at Region 10 ESC for a conference that hits all the right notes.
