Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges among youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for helping young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Participants will complete 2 hours of self-paced work in advance of the YMHFA class. The individual work will be followed by a group class held online.
