(Birdville ISD) Ethical Uses of AI in Special Education Evaluation - 36211
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into education systems, school psychologists, educational diagnosticians, and special education professionals must be prepared to navigate its ethical use, especially in the context of special education evaluation. This session will explore the current landscape of AI tools and how they can be used in the evaluation process. Participants will examine both the potential benefits and the ethical pitfalls, with a focus on student privacy, bias mitigation, informed consent, and professional responsibility.

Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify at least three current applications of AI in special education and describe at least three ethical concerns related to using AI in educational assessments.
