Lunch and Learn: Writing Effective Behavior Goals - 36204

Behavior goals allow the IEP team to address targeted areas of behavioral need for the student including the decrease in interfering behavior, an increase in desired positive school behavior, and the use of appropriate replacement behavior. Measurable and observable goals will allow the team to evaluate progress and determine the next steps for the student. This session is aligned with the behavior component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment

Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will recognize the significance of measurable and observable behavior goals in supporting positive outcomes for students and will be able to distinguish between observable and non-observable behaviors to ensure goals are clear and measurable.
