Literacy in Action: Tools for Processing Complex Texts Across Subjects - 35794
In this dynamic workshop, educators will explore how to integrate literacy instruction across Science, Social Studies, and ELAR to create an engaging learning environment that supports all learners, including gifted and advanced students. Participants will engage with research-based instructional strategies (RBIS) that bridge the subjects, helping students make meaningful connections between historical content, scientific knowledge, and literacy skills. This session demonstrates how cross-curricular planning fosters critical and creative thinking, higher-level reasoning, and analytical skills, empowering teachers to extend and enrich instruction for all students. Join us to gain practical tools and insights for designing learning experiences that inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, and connect literacy skills with content knowledge across disciplines. This session counts as a 6-hour G/T update.
