Bluebonnet Learning: (3-5 RLA) Tackling Text Complexity- Hands-On Strategies for Collaborative Student Success - 34743
In this hands-on workshop, we will explore practical strategies for helping students navigate complex texts with confidence. Participants will gain a deep understanding of what makes texts complex and learn how to effectively scaffold reading instruction to support student comprehension. The session will cover essential techniques for building background knowledge and vocabulary, guiding peer-led reading and writing tasks, and facilitating collaborative conversations. Teachers will be equipped with tools and strategies to implement scaffolded reading instruction that empowers students to tackle challenging texts while fostering critical thinking and engagement. Through collaborative discussions and interactive activities, this session will provide participants with the skills needed to help their students succeed with complex reading materials. This session is designed for teachers and campus leaders who have at least one year of experience with Amplify and will be using Bluebonnet Learning K-5 RLA.

Objectives
By the end of the workshop, teachers and instructional leaders will be able to support students in confidently navigating complex texts by incorporating peer-led tasks, academic discourse, scaffolded reading instruction, and strategies to build vocabulary and background knowledge, as demonstrated through active participation in collaborative interactions and discussions during the session.
