Teaching Texas: A Look at Texas Government and History with Texas LRE - 34325
This Law-Related Education interactive institute provides opportunities for exploring the TEKS in Government and History from a Texas perspective. Experience hands-on lessons that allow learners to engage with the content and gain a deeper understanding of our state. Collaborate with other educators as you engage in lessons and strategies that support student success and enrich existing curriculum. This institute is designed for both 4th and 7th grade teachers. Educators will explore resources created for their specific grade level. Participants will leave with practical strategies and resources to make learning come alive for all students in their classrooms. Included in these resources are: The Eras of Texas History The Uniqueness of Texas Government Texas Event Cards Texas Biography Cards Learn how to use these resources to examine the political, economic, and social significance of events. Lunch will be provided.

Objectives
Participants will collaborate with peers, explore practical classroom applications, and create a toolkit—including Texas Event and Biography Cards that contains hands-on, Texas-specific resources and strategies that align with the TEKS in Government and History, enhancing their ability to foster student engagement and understanding of Texas's unique political, economic, and social history.
