AS+K? About Suicide to Save a Life teaches community partners and stakeholders to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communications of people in psychological distress and identify what action to take to prevent a possible tragedy. AS+K? About Suicide to Save a Life Workshops are three-hour workshops designed for persons who work and/or interact with youth, adults, Veterans, and others who may be at risk of suicide. Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) - Reducing access to lethal means, such as firearms and medication, can determine whether a person at risk for suicide lives or dies. This course is about how to reduce access to the methods people use to kill themselves. It covers who needs lethal means counseling and how to work with people at risk for suicide—and their families—to reduce access.

Objectives
As a result of this full day of training and practice, counselors, social workers, and campus administrators will select the appropriate conversational styles to successfully counsel parents, guardians. and caregivers to effectively reduce the access to lethal means, specifically prescription drugs and firearms for those in their care contemplating suicide.
