Ready, Set, Grow! A Cohort for New CAN Teachers - 33714
This four-day training is for new or novice teachers of students with complex access needs (Significant Cognitive Disabilities, Medically Fragile). Participants must be in their first or second year of teaching students with significant cognitive disabilities or those who are medically fragile. This will be face-to-face sessions with online coursework and Professional Learning Community participation. Ongoing training and support will be provided during the academic year.
This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies components of the TEA-required self-assessment.
Enrollment is limited to 20 participants.

Objectives
Participants will demonstrate how to set up and organize their learning environment for optimal learning.
Participants will develop classroom schedules and communication plans for various stakeholders.
Participants will review and discuss alignment between state standards, curriculum, and local/state assessments.
Participants will identify and practice strategies for differentiation and inclusion.
