In the Know: Evaluation Staff Updates - 33537
We invite you to participate in these collaboration/update opportunities that have been specifically designed for special education evaluation personnel. Participants will have the chance to connect with colleagues in the region, discuss best practices in the field, and gain insights into the latest evaluation practices and tools. This session will focus on the updates to the Texas Administrative Code, conducting the REED process in initial evaluations, and the 504 to Special Education process for students with dyslexia. This session is aligned with the evaluation components of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
Understand the latest updates to the Texas Administrative Code and their implications for special education evaluation practices.
Understand best practices for conducting the Review of Existing Evaluation Data (REED) process in initial evaluations to ensure comprehensive and compliant assessments.
Develop effective strategies for transitioning students with dyslexia from Section 504 plans to Special Education services.
