Texas Dyslexia Academy 4 -- Dyslexia: From Child Find through the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee Process Virtual - 33169
Texas Dyslexia Academy 4 is designed to build background knowledge about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and special education from Child Find through the ARD committee process. It provides information about core special education concepts such as Child Find; Full Individual and Initial Evaluations (FIIE); Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committees; and Individual Education Program (IEP) development.
This session is aligned with the Dyslexia, Child Find, IEP Content and Development, IEP Implementation, Properly Constituted ARD, Least Restrictive Environment, and Free and Appropriate Public Education component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify the key components of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Child Find requirements, and referral process for an initial evaluation when a specific learning disability (SLD) is diagnosed. Participants will review the Notice of Action (Prior Written Notice), Notice of Procedural Safeguards, and discuss the overview of special education for parents.
