MTSS Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Pedagogy (CLRP) - 32817

The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework can be considered the umbrella for other support systems, such as data-based individualization (DBI), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), response to intervention (RtI), and positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS). An effective MTSS framework considers the variability of learners, supports in place, and equal access to the general curriculum. Through MTSS, schools identify students needing additional support and provide them with evidence-based interventions to reduce academic and behavioral gaps. Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Pedagogy is part of that framework. In this session, participants will be provided an overview of CLRP. Educators will explore CLRP practices, what they look like at the classroom, school, and district levels, and the connections between CLRP and Restorative Practices. Participants will also explore how to incorporate CLRP within academic instruction in a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) framework. This session aligns with the FAPE and Intervention component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.
