This comprehensive workshop will equip educators, social workers, nurses, and other professionals working in educational settings with a thorough understanding of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and its critical importance in supporting students experiencing homelessness. Objectives
McKinney-Vento Liaisons, Administrators, Counselors and other district personnel will review key requirements of the McKinney-Vento Act and identify the roles and responsibilities of school district's to support homeless children and youth. Participants will develop at least one action step related to legal requirements and best practices for student identification and support.
