Math Studio: Middle Grades - Proportionality - 36662

Teaching middle school mathematics requires more than covering standards; it involves creating learning experiences where students make sense of mathematics, recognize connections, and develop lasting understanding. Math Studio: Middle Grades (6–8) is a series of focused, half-day professional learning sessions designed to support teachers in strengthening instruction across key mathematical strands: proportionality; equations, expressions, and relationships; geometry and measurement; and data and statistics. Each session offers practical, classroom-ready strategies that intentionally balance conceptual understanding with procedural fluency. Participants will engage in meaningful mathematical tasks, examine student thinking, and experience instructional routines that promote discourse, reasoning, and problem solving. Educators may attend one or multiple sessions based on their instructional goals. While each session is designed to stand alone, together they contribute to a cohesive vision of effective middle grades mathematics instruction. Participants will leave with tools, strategies, and resources they can immediately implement to support all learners.
