Extension Activity Sessions for Standards Based IEPs (Weatherford ISD) - 34619
This professional development series is designed to enhance learning for educators completing the asynchronous, self-paced Standards Based IEP Process Training on TEALearn. Participants will engage in guided extension activities to deepen their understanding of key concepts and apply their learning to real-world scenarios.
The training will include facilitated discussions designed to review and clarify module content, focusing on essential aspects such as gathering student data, writing PLAAFP statements, drafting measurable annual goals with benchmarks, and creating progress monitoring systems. Participants will engage in practical, hands-on activities to apply these concepts, including analyzing sample FIEs, drafting PLAAFPs, and developing sample data collection tools. Additionally, the sessions will provide collaborative opportunities for participants to share insights, address challenges, and reflect on strategies for effectively implementing the SB IEP process in their roles.
This session is aligned with the IEP Content and Development components of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
By the end of the sessions, participants will use the Essential Elements Rubric to evaluate their own drafted PLAAFP statement and measurable annual goals with benchmarks, demonstrating their ability to critically assess and refine their work based on SB IEP process standards.
