Join us for an inspiring series centered on the book, "Building Thinking Classrooms" by Peter Liljedahl. This series serves as an introduction to the book, providing you with invaluable insights into cultivating an engaging and dynamic learning environment in the mathematics classroom. Secondary mathematics teachers can choose any or all of the following sessions where we will take a deep dive into each of the 14 practices through the toolkits below:
In toolkit one, we will learn how to cultivate a thinking classroom culture that nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
In toolkit two, we will learn about the teaching practices of a thinking classroom and when, where, and how you deliver instruction.
In toolkit three, we will learn how to effectively manage the flow in the classroom and discover ways for students to take meaningful notes about their learning.
In toolkit four, we will learn about effective ways of formatively assessing student understanding in the thinking classroom.

Objectives
In this session, secondary educators will focus on the practices in toolkit three and create a plan to implement hints and extensions to maintain flow, consolidate mathematical thinking, and have students write meaningful notes about their learning.
