Emotional Disabilities in Schools: Assessment and Student Support for Evaluators - 33639
This session explores the multifaceted nature of emotional disabilities in the school setting, equipping evaluators with tools to identify and support students with these challenges. Participants will learn how to distinguish emotional disabilities from other conditions, utilize appropriate assessment methods, and implement evidence-based practices for teacher collaboration and student support.
This session is aligned with the Evaluation, Behavior and Intervention components of the TEA-required self-assessment and SPP indicator Disproportionate Representation Disability Category.

Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will identify at least three distinguishing features of emotional disabilities compared to other conditions using case studies and diagnostic criteria, evaluate at least two evidence-based assessment tools for emotional disabilities, explaining their strengths and limitations, and design a collaborative support plan by integrating feedback from all stakeholders and addressing both academic and behavioral need
