A Step Toward IEP Quality and Rigor for Students with Complex Needs - 36975

The Quality and Rigor Rubric was created to guide professionals in developing Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements, goals/objectives, and progress-monitoring methods that lead to the creation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with significant cognitive disabilities. This tool assists educators in reflecting on the quality and rigor of writing IEP goals in a supportive and strategic manner. This process is about continuous improvement and is not evaluative of the educator. * Important * Each participant must bring a copy of a student's IEP, including the PLAAFP, and goals for use with instruction and coaching during the session. Please bring a device if you choose to view the handouts electronically.
