Understanding the Impact of Stress and Trauma on Academic Performance Virtual - 36682

Chronic stress and exposure to trauma can significantly influence a student’s ability to engage in learning and demonstrate academic skills. Stress-related changes in brain functioning can affect attention, memory, executive functioning, and emotional regulation, all of which are critical for academic success. This session will provide an overview of how stress and trauma can affect learning and classroom performance. Participants will examine common academic and behavioral indicators associated with trauma and discuss considerations for supporting students within the school setting.
