Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) for Mathematics - 35700
Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) represent the most significant shifts needed to bridge the gap between research and practice in mathematics instruction. In this extended two-day session, participants will take a deeper dive into four high-impact strategies: Balancing Conceptual and Procedural Understanding, Developing the Depth of Key Concepts, Building Coherence of Key Concepts, and Supporting Productive Struggle. Designed for educators implementing any mathematics curriculum, this session provides time to explore, analyze, and apply these strategies with greater depth. Educators will engage in rich discussions, practice-focused tasks, and collaborative reflection to support sustained changes in instruction.

Instructional Coaches/Support Specialists, Teacher - Elementary (Grades 1-5), Teacher - General Education, Teacher - High School (Grades 9-12), Teacher - Middle School (Grades 6-8), Assistant Principals, Central Office Administrators, Principals, Teacher - Special Education
Objectives
Participants will engage in an in-depth exploration of four high-impact instructional strategies. They will analyze how each strategy connects to effective math teaching practices, apply them to instructional examples, and collaboratively plan for implementation in their own contexts.
