This professional development session is designed to equip educators with the knowledge, strategies, and tools needed to implement explicit instruction effectively in the classroom. Explicit instruction is a structured, systematic, and direct approach to teaching that is especially effective for supporting all learners.
This session aligns with the FAPE and Intervention component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment.

Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will describe explicit instruction and why it is important, as well as engage in content that describes how explicit instruction supports student learning. Participants will also learn to identity and use the features of effective modeling and student practice through specific classroom examples.
