Bluebonnet Learning: (K-5 Math) Developing Mathematical Reasoning Through Application Problems Virtual - 34881
Application problems are essential for building mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills. In this interactive virtual session, participants will explore strategies to help students make sense of and solve problems using flexible thinking and supportive routines. We’ll discuss how sense-making progresses from Kindergarten through 5th grade—starting with drawing as a foundational tool in Kindergarten and evolving into the Read-Draw-Write (RDW) process in grades 1-5. As students advance, representations and reasoning become more complex, promoting deeper mathematical understanding and independent problem-solving. Join us to discover practical approaches for fostering confident, capable thinkers!
