Research-Based Instructional Strategies for Mathematics - 34110
Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) instructional strategies representing the most significant changes needed to bridge the gap between research and practice. The mathematics RBIS includes:
- Balance of Conceptual & Procedural
- Depth of Key Concepts
- Coherence of Key Concepts
- Productive Struggle
In this two-day Mathematics RBIS session, an overview of the research-based strategies will be paired with assessment practices, supporting all learners, and effective implementation. Participants will explore thinking differently about mathematics instruction and what changes could benefit the students they serve.
Audiences
Teacher - Elementary (Grades 1-5), Teacher - High School (Grades 9-12), Teacher - Middle School (Grades 6-8), Instructional Leaders, Principals, Teacher - ESL (English as a Second Language), Teacher - General Education, Teacher - Gifted Talented/Advanced Academics
Objectives
Participants will identify components of the RBIS and prepare to implement each RBIS by the end of the second day to improve student outcomes in their schools and systems.
