Autism and Behavior Lunch and Learn: Writing Measurable Annual Behavior Goals Virtual - 33913

During this series, participants will dive into the world of behavior analysis and learn practical strategies to shape behavior effectively. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the skills and knowledge to develop and implement effective behavioral strategies in a variety of settings, such as in school or the home. This session is aligned with the Instructional Strategies component(s) of the TEA-required self-assessment. September Session - Behavior goals allow the IEP team to address targeted areas of behavioral need for the student including the decrease in interfering behavior, an increase in desired positive school behavior, and the use of appropriate replacement behavior. Measurable and observable goals will allow the team to evaluate progress and determine the next steps for the student.

Prerequisite/Special Notes
Standards-based IEP is a prerequisite for this course. Those who still need to complete SBIEP will be unregistered per TEA guidance.
Objectives
Participants will recognize the significance of measurable and observable behavior goals in supporting positive outcomes for students. Participants will distinguish between observable and non-observable behaviors to ensure goals are clear and measurable. Participants will practice writing behavior goals that are clear, specific, and aligned with the individual's needs.
