Abydos Literacy and Learning: Three-Day Literacy Workshop - 32520

This three-day, research-based, interdisciplinary, hands-on training focuses on (1) teaching reflexive and expository writing as a process; (2) using the writing workshop model in the classroom; (3) preparing students for state assessments; (4) incorporating grouping, sharing, and conferencing techniques into instruction; (5) pre-writing, writing, reformulating, correcting, editing, and proofreading; (6) integrating grammar as a part of the writing process; and (7) making the act of writing and the teaching of writing more engaging, effective, and enjoyable. Every participant will receive a free copy of the book "Acts of Teaching: How to Teach Writing." This session addresses the following Special Education Self-Assessment indicators: #2, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12.
